Next Up, Rome.

August 4, 2009

We’re going to Georgia on a fast train for the Rome International Film Festival. Solid Country Gold screens on Saturday, September 12th, 9pm, at the Desoto Theatre (530 Broad St Rome, GA 30161).

California was fun…mainly because we left with three awards from the AOF International Film Festival; Best Comedy, Best Soundtrack (congratulations Festus and the White Trash Band), and Best Supporting Actor (Mr. Matthew Hagan).

Two New Festivals

June 23, 2009

In case you missed the IndieGrits Festival and the Greer Opry screening, here are two more chances to catch the next best thing to hit the South since kudzu.

-AOF International Film Festival in Pasadena, California. Screening times have yet to be assigned, but the festival runs from July 24-31.

-Rome International Film Festival in Rome, Georgia on September 12 at 9:00pm.

I suggest you couple the Pasadena trip with tickets to The Price Is Right.

Hagan’s Suit

The Greer Opry screening was a success!
Thanks to all who came out for the special occasion.

Speaking of special occassions….

We made our first morning show appearance today on Your Carolina with Jack and Kimberly, shot live at Michelin On Main in downtown Greenville. We went on between the man who makes balloon animals and the Spartan Spinners Square Dance Club. Awesome.

For the next few months we’re posting a clip a week to view.
Enjoy. See you next week.

The Only Picture

April 22, 2009

Here’s the only picture of our triumph in Columbia. It was taken on Ronnie’s phone, probably by mistake.

You can see a confident Matt Hagan, even though we’d just arrived in town. Hayne is incognito in the background.

Best Feature.

April 20, 2009

Three things happened this past weekend at the 2009 IndieGrits Film Festival.

1) It was our World Premiere.
2) We won Best Feature Film (Big Grit) of the Festival.
3) Hayne and Ronnie forgot to bring their camera to take pics.
(And verify to you that it really happened.)

But it did… are we are super grateful to the Indie Grits staff, jurors, and film-lovers for first having us, and second… for believing so much in this little film of ours.
The comments and encouragement from staff and fellow filmmakers were inspiring. We made some great new friends and are so happy we screened at IndieGrits first.

A large thank you to Andy and the staff. Your hospitality and thoughtfulness were unparalleled.

We have no pictures to show… right now.
(We’re going to try to hunt some down.)

Greer Opry

April 15, 2009

We’re going to the Opry!
The Greer Opry/

We’re super excited to announce that SCG will be screening May 15th at the Greer Opry House at 7:00pm.
This is a special venue to us because we used the Opry House as a location in our film…

So come to the Opry and watch a film that was filmed in the place where you’re watching it. (if that made sense.)

There is a $5.00 ticket charge at the door.
Festus and the White Trash Band will make a special appearance after the screening to play a few tunes from the film.

Hope to see you there.
